Ever since I posted a picture of this ravishing velvet ribbon cum pearl choker from Moda Operandi, I’ve been searching high and low at home for materials to create a similar version. Despite raiding every corner of my home for a velvet ribbon and a pearl pendant, I was at a loss.
Where do you think I turned to next?
Yeb! You guessed right! The op-shop! Surely the crafts basket would have something! At first I don’t succeed. So I dust myself off and try again. I was in luck. A black grosgrain ribbon was sitting cozily next to a leather belt buckle in the haberdashery/crafts section of this particular op-shop. Their marriage is a match made in heaven. It’s even more modern and striking than the original design. And not only is it unique, it cost next to nothing.
Can you guess who is going to the op-shop again for more DIY projects?
It looks lovely! :) The opshop has some great bargains sometimes, real gems if you’re creative enough to modify them a little too! :)
