I’m sure you’ve all noticed that there’s a trend right now called ‘stealth wealth’. It’s the ultimate display of cleaning eating and healthy living. Most people these days have personal trainers (funnily PT also stands for public tansport, another eco-friendly/healthy way of living), juicers, nutritionists, paleo cook books and a pantry stocked to the brim with chia seeds and almonds. Thanks to social media, there’s no better time than now to show off a balanced lifestyle, enviable physique, fitness regime and that big bowl of kale salad. Health food businesses, fitness organisations and wellness companies are joining hands to encourage and inspire individuals worldwide to ‘eat clean and be lean’. After all, doesn’t our health deserve the best care and investment?
If you’re like me, you may be wondering which diet you should adapt. Should I go raw, vegan, vegetarian or paleo? With so many recommendations out there, some of which are conflicting and confusing, it’s pretty difficult to chose. Thanks to hundreds of health and fitness podcasts I’ve been listening to lately, I found some good advice: the best diet is the one that suits you.
So many factors come into play when it comes to choosing diets. We all differ in lifestyle, budget, time availability, work schedule, metabolism, goal and even the bacterial flora of our gut! So it’s not about which diet is best, it’s which one is best for you. At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with going natural, local and organic. Water is ultimately the best beverage, and we should consume everything in moderation. Exercise should be a way of life, and don’t forget the other important health factor upon which everything else is built: sleep.
If you’re having trouble sleeping properly at home, you can always hit the snooze and rest button at the Park Hyatt Melbourne!
I really like that jacket, and that’s great advice on the food/diet thing too. I think after the sleep deprived newborn days I understood the importance of sleep a lot more! haha!
yeah sleep is the biggest pillar of health, but it’s not something that’s been promoted enough- I’m learning first hand the detrimental effects of sleep deprivation and so will certainly be singing its praises!
Wonderful jacket!
Have a great start of the week :)

Lovely post Cecylia.
With our upcoming wedding, Grange and I have joined a gym and are definitely living cleaner healthier lives.
I feel so much better for it.
One of the things that’s made a big difference to me is eating less bread and pasta (i haven’t eliminated wheat completely), and making sleep a priority.

yes sleep should be a priority in our modern lives, and carbs not :) I’ve got a veggie patch now so am eating more greens :D
