It’s not every day you get to hang out with beauty bloggers, be made over with Dior cosmetics, drool over the latest Christian Dior offerings, lunch at Maha and help celebrate the launch of Dior’s Prestige White Collection skincare. But I had the privilege to experience all of this all this last Friday. I was stoked to be invited along with established beauty bloggers Valerie (Ponikuta), Tine (Beautyholic Anonymous) and Celina (Fables of Fashion). Turns out despite our very different skincare and makeup routines (theirs extensive, and mine practically non-existential), different readership and blogging content, we had much in common: mutual friends, fluffy dogs, and an ardent love for Dior cosmetics.
Have you been to the new Dior Counter in Myer Melbourne? It’s super slick. Seas of lip colours, perfume bottles and skincare jars await your perusal. There is a perfume bar for your olfactory senses to explore and discover your signature scent. With fashion week around the corner, I was particularly drawn to the Dior Backstage Pro range. The Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara gave my typical flat Asian lashes an instant lift.
Since I still had to work as a vet in the afternoon, I requested a natural look. My makeup artist Elsie concentrated on my brows and lips. “You have to define your brows!” she quipped as she filled in the gaps. After moisturizing my ultra chapped lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow, which although glides on clear, gave my lips a natural pink hue within seconds (it’s magical!), Elsie applied the classic Dior lip colour, “999”. “Red lipstick really suit you!” You can be sure that I’ll be visiting her again next time I need to look polished! A makeover at the Myer Melbourne Dior Counter costs $50 but is redeemable when you purchase 2 makeup products.
These are the products Elsie used on me to make me look more awake.
After our makeovers, we visited the Dior Couture boutique on Collins St. Needless to say, I was even more mesmerized by the clothes!Oh and shoes!
Despite the boutique’s grandeur, there is an intimate lounge so customers using change rooms can really feel at home.
This sleek grey blue embossed clutch is exquisite. So is the double pearl bracelet!
The handiwork of a Dior clutch
Sporty Resort-y! Personally I couldn’t pull off these sandals, but the green and pink is an unexpectedly chic pair!
What do you think of these embellished runners?
After visiting the boutique, we had a 4 course lunch at Maha. The lighting wasn’t great for photos but the food was gorgeous. Even if you’re not huge on modern Middle eastern food, the interiors are worth the visit. I can’t wait to take hubby there.
Inspired by the purest white roses that grow despite the bleak climates of Normandy, Dior’s latest skincare line, the Prestige White collection was created with its Asian clientele in mind. The 2-step products are designed to clarify, soften and illuminate. I’m going to trial the products for a month and let you know how it goes. Hopefully I’ll be able to show you the results soon!
Wow the shoes are superb!
