Blame it on Leonardo DiCaprio. He first captivated all of us Juliette-wannabes with his dreamy looks in the modern Shakespeare adaption by Baz Lurhmann, then he confused us and confounded us with his vivid dreams in Inception. I’m not sure if Melbourne-based designer, Jolet (last seen here) was inspired by the Hollywood heartthrob’s films or not (should have asked her when I had coffee with her last week!) but her new SS11/12 collection is romantic enough for us to all feel like a beautiful Claire or Marion.
I have been itching to show you this tangerine Karla Spetic blouse with cut-outs for a while now. It was one of the only pieces my business partner left me when she left me which fit me, the rest of the boutique pieces are now available for adoption here.

These fork earrings are super handy for picnic days or if you rock up uninvited to a BBQ. I would love to meet the first person to ‘invent’ these and given them a pat on the back- what a quirky way to recycle something so practical!
You probably remember my favourite ivory tassel necklace in this post, but I wanted to also show you the compartments! A true vintage gem, as ancient Chinese used to store medicinal herbs (or so they say) in these! There’s a similar necklace on sale here!

Where: on the way to return library books
Wear: Karla Spetic shirt, vintage shades, earrings, necklace (similar one here) and belt, Jolet skirt, vintage wicker bag, Repetto shoes
I bought Jolet’s Lucid Dream silk pleated skirt as a Christmas present to myself. Jolet’s pieces are exquisitely tailored and are all made locally here in Melbourne. Go on, support our local designers, they are the future!
Wearing the skirt makes me feel like I’m on an exotic destination. Lucid dream indeed. Happy New Year to you! xx
PS- Tell me how you celebrated your NYE on Facebook, Twitter or Google+!

Happy new year my lovelies! This is the final blog post of 2011. Man have I had a ball this year, and I couldn’t have done it without you! You have no idea how much your readership, comments and subscriptions mean to me. Before I post anything, I consider you- my reader, what things would tickle your fancy? So thank you for encouraging me this year. Here are some highlights from 2011 which you may recall, and below is a list of the first times this year I…(in chronological order)
Also, because you have been so good to me and my blog, I am hosting another give-away! This time- lippies! The wonderful folks at Ciccone Cosmetics heard how much I love their luscious lipsticks, they sent me plenty more. They are super soft, moist, fragrant and they are made in Australia! Plus Amber Renae is their face (and body)!
I would like to share these divine lippies with you. I’m going to be giving away their lipsticks, all you need to do is add me to your Google+ circle, leave a comment below and a winner will be drawn on the 9th Jan 2012. Enjoy your new Ciccone lippie!

A little while ago my beautiful cousin from Canberra (you would have seen her in her Wedding post here) came down to Melbourne so I could take her shopping. It was such a fun day! We started on High St Armadale at our boutique, then we went to a few of our favourite shops: Harlem, Hokey Curator, ate macaroons at La Tropezienne and cupcakes at the Cupcake Central cafe. Ah how we indulged…
Whilst Evane was trying on garments I got a few sneak pics, it was my first time wearing this amazing vintage Hiroko Koshino skirt. My mother-in-law gave it to me, along with the cape . This Japanese designer is STILL around and creating amazing pieces. I would love to visit her stores in Japan or Taiwan, where fashion is beautifully married with art. Ah…one day :)

Vintage shirt, belt, bracelet and earrings, Sportsgirl shoes, YSL ring and Hiroko Koshino skirt, in our change room.

I love being a personal stylist – this is an outfit I chose for Evane and it is her favourite outfit – Karla Spetic silk top, Amy Kaehne silk shorts (which I also have and featured in this post) and purple patent Repetto Klein pumps. Great legs!

After our shopping expedition, we headed to the Japanese Summer Festival, stay tuned for the next post :)
For me, there is not such thing as ‘Shop Til You Drop’, my shopping stamina has never let me down, that’s why I love shopping and love taking friends shopping! As long as I can shop, I forget about hunger, anxieties…worries.. :) A colleague recently compared me to a Duracell Bunny because of my unceasing vitality. So if you ever need a shopping buddy, give me a shout!

Here’s a glimpse of my boutique (that I co-own with my beautiful business partner, Linda), what do you think?
I have been eyeing this Felder Felder spiked belt for aaaaages and even thought it’s a tad big, I guess we were meant to be. I was in a rush to head to work one morning so I just picked up my Karla Spetic Trench dress (featured in this post), grabbed my Mawi dynamite bangle, Felder Felder belt and a necklace (I made this one, a little keyring man on a gold chain), slipped into my ninja-inspired sandals and sprinted to work. These were a souvenir from Shanghai. They remind me of my favourite Japanese anime ‘Naruto’.
As you may have guessed from the title of this post, I worked the timer on the camera and managed to capture Theodore in one of the photos as well! He’s such a good pooch sitting by the door, awaiting customers.
So now that you’ve seen this trench dress, available here, worn both as a jacket and a dress- tell me, which do you prefer?
