Bonjour ma cherie! Recently I was contacted by L’avion to enter a styling competition with one of their beautiful silk scarves. Being a mega silk and scarf fan, I jumped at the opportunity! Out of the 3 designs from L’avion’s Flora & Fauna Collection, Bouquet, Plume and Menagerie, can you guess which one I picked?
L’avion is French for ‘aeroplane‘. The Australian label conjures up the romantic notion of travelling, a hobby Australians are becoming internationally renowned for. I assume that you all know how to wear scarves around your hair, neck and bag…so I decided to do something more creative with my L’avion scarf.
I call this ‘the Holiday Look‘. I adore wearing silk scarves as tops because it’s easy. Especially for exotic, tropical holidays. All you need is a long, rectangular silk scarf, drape it around your back under the arms, bring the 2 ends to the front of your chest, cross them over, and tie them behind your neck. C’est facile! What you wear underneath is entirely up to you- bikini or free-range! Sarong pants are super elegant and easily versatile to take you from day to night. A maxi skirt is equally chic.
Of course, I had to show you an extra styling step in my idiosyncratic mind. Twist the neck strands and pin a brooch, or in my case, a clip-on-earring (this lonesome earring lost its partner when their owner had butter fingers one day) to add more decorative flair.
And yes this post features a give-away! 2 lucky voters of my look will be in the running to win a L’avion’s Flora & Fauna Collection scarf each! To enter:
2. Like the L’avion Facebook Page here
The winners will be chosen by the designer of L’avion, on 27th Feb. Best wishes guys! You know me, I’m not into popularity contests. It’s the whole experience of being able to style a scarf to impress the designer that is most exciting. I hope I have given you a nouveau travelling outfit idea. Thank you so much for joining me on this fun-filled adventure!
