Recently I adopted a rat. Yes a rat! I’ve never had a pet rat before. I’ve had rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, dogs and cats, but have never had pet rodents. He was brought to me to be sent to rat heaven but I couldn’t do it. Despite having a head tilt, the rat was still lively. So I took him in, gave him lots of antibiotics and he’s cured. We named him after my favourite character from Fantastic Mr. Fox- Kristofferson. It seems to be a tradition in our house that the smaller an animal is, the longer their name must be.
Kristofferson munching on a corn kernel, isn’t he adorable?
Kristofferson has settled in well at home, Theodore is not a big fan of him, here is a photo for your viewing pleasure.
I watched the movie on the way back from Paris Fashion Week on the plane and it was fabulous entertainment. I have not stopped raving on about it to my friends. If you have not watched Fantastic Mr. Fox- I highly recommend it. Watch how the wild animals outsmart humans. Kristofferson is the fox in blue PJ’s on the left.
My adventure with Kristofferson begins! He is a very friendly rat, and a curious one at that. I forgot to shut his cage door one night and he went exploring our laundry room. He found all the dog biscuits under the washing machine to munch on and returned back to his cage the next day. Talk about the ‘prodigal rodent’! Oh, and I think he chewed on some wires and destroyed our washing machine….
Rats are so intelligent. I will not take Kristofferson for granted, that’s for sure!
cute rat!!! I wish if I could have a pet!
I’m sure you could have a rat, you’ll barely notice he’s there :P
i really need to watch that movie x
I love the pic if theodore and kristofferson x
Yikes… I’m not too sure what to think about the new addition to the family – It’s the tail that would freak me out. As for the fantastic Mr Fox – He is truly fantastic and so too is your blog
Yours truly
