It’s rare to find a global fashionista who doesn’t love Charlotte Olympia’s shoes. The word ‘swoon’ usually comes to mind when one sees the London It-Girl’s gravity-defying heels. Ever since launching her eponymous London-based shoe brand in 2006, Charlotte Olympia Dellal’s designs have become synonymous with iconic silhouettes, bold hues and meticulous craftsmanship. All of her shoes are handmade in Italy with the finest materials. I was in awe of her attention to detail when I had the utmost pleasure of meeting the half-Brazilian, half-English designer in Paris in 2010. Her design philosophy focuses on femininity with a quirky twist and is inspired by the allure of a bygone era of old Hollywood glamour, namely the 40s. Cleverly using a golden spider’s web as her logo, it was only a matter of time that the fashion-pack would all helplessly fall into her web.
