Remember the days when every second of my blog post was an Event? “If I got a dollar for each missed event or opportunity, I’d be rich (and be able to afford this)!” I recently lamented to a friend about sacrificing so many great blogging opportunities since becoming a mom. I barely get any time to spend on the laptop or social media these days because I’ve decided to be fully present with my son. Trying to knead playdough, whilst singing nursery rhymes to Winston and Instagramming just wasn’t working…
But then an amazing event like the Mr Price/MRP launch party happens and swept everyone off their feet. If the invitation wasn’t enticing enough (it was a fashion video incorporated in a card complete with volume dials), the South African high street label imported guests of honour, British model/It-Girl Poppy Delevingne and celebrity designer Henry Holland to the Melbourne Central store. Poppy is the face of MRP’s Oakridge Range. She accepted the gig because she loved the charity aspect of the brand. MRP supports communities in South Africa through its non-profit organisation, The MRP Foundation. So technically, Poppy is not just a pretty face.
If Poppy brought style to the launch, Henry brought the energy. The duo were perfect for the on-trend and yet affordable label. I had the privilege to meet Henry a couple of years ago in Paris during one of my buying trips back in my boutique years. He is still the life of the party.

Not every party boasts head-turning food (mini burgers, mini tacos, dumplings and icecream oh my!), live music (spun by the blonde and beautiful Dem Foxes), a prize spinning wheel, customized caps, sketch artists, helium balloons decorated with Emojis, live muralling (by artist Buff Diss) and of course, the opportunity to shop up a storm! I took the liberty to stock up on some toddler gear and to dog-ear some of the party tricks for the future…
Now, can you guess what my customized cap says?
Glad you had fun at the event! It sounds awesome :)
It’s definitely a big change being a mum, and you have less time for a lot of things, but you have the best reason in the world for not having a lot of time for all the other things!
couldn’t have said it better Mica! We can make our days fun and exciting too even if we are doing mundane mothering tasks :D
