At the end of last year, I was given the opportunity to be pampered at one of Victoria’s most highly respected skin clinics, neoSKiN. Having just endured a few weeks of segmented sleep, my skin was in desperate need of a perk-me-up. So when neoSKiN offered the LED light therapy and a neoOxygen facial, I couldn’t book my babysitter fast enough.
It was a scorcher of a day. I was melting. But as soon as I stepped into the clinic, an air of tranquility swept over me. The decor is fresh and modern, and the service is impeccable! I was greeted by the Founder and Managing Director of neoSKiN, Yasmin Najjar.
When Yasmin was 24, she traveled extensively around the world. Having witnessed many technological advancements in skin treatments, she started neoSKiN in 2008 to provide Australians with the latest cosmetic skin treatments. The award winning clinic has 3 locations: South Melbourne, Richmond and Williamstown. I had the privilege of visiting the Richmond clinic and trying out Yasmin’s favourite facial – the neoOxygen facial!
Kelly, a neoSKiN Training Manager and Skin & Laser Clinician, was my facial consultant. She was in her third trimester but still as agile as a bird and radiant as a mom blessed with unsegmented sleep. After obtaining a lifestyle history and observing my skin, she recommended the Light Lab LED Light Room and the neoOxygen facial.
Kelly was a wealth of knowledge. She is a firm believer that skin should be fed from the inside out. I completely agree. We are what we eat. Beauty really does come from within. But having a facial is not just a luxurious way to relax and be pampered, it is taking a giant step in the right direction, the direction to better skincare. Kelly was kind enough to answer all my skincare questions. I felt ready to tackle my primary skin concerns: lacklustre and acne scars.
We started with the Light Lab LED light therapy. It’s called ‘photo-rejuvenation’ because the light helps to heal and rejuvenate skin. A LED light was placed over my face. It was warm and soothing. The LED light waves are designed to travel to the deeper layers of the skin to rejuvenate the cells and boost collagen production. This treatment is designed to heal scars, acne and repair uneven skin, leaving it feeling plump and looking radiant. It was just what I needed. The treatment is painless, in fact the Light Lab is so relaxing I almost fell asleep! Definitely a fine way to power nap!
After priming my face with the 15 minute LED light therapy, my skin was treated to Yasmin’s favourite facial, the neoOxygen. It is designed to treat my sun ravaged skin. The neoOxygen helps to restore skin’s vitality by hydrating it and replenishing it with essential nutrients. The vitamin C mask brightens whilst the Oxy-Mist spray rehydrates and heals. An hour later, my skin felt hydrated, massaged and relaxed. If only I could have this (and uninterrupted sleep) more often!
So since tomorrow is Chinese New Year, we get a second chance with new year’s resolutions. Let’s take better care of our skin. After all, our skin is our body’s biggest organ. And if we look after it, we will also be looking after our overall health. So let’s all strive to eat better, exercise more, prioritise sleep and book in facials! Here’s wishing you a wonderful and healthy year ahead!

Nice photos!
Oh it sounds like a lovely and relaxing way to spend some time, how lucky! :)
It’s funny, I’m being a lot more careful about the sun now I have baby T to watch out for too, I’ve even started wearing a hat when I know I’ll be out in the sun for a while! I’m being more diligent with sunscreen too. The sun can age your skin so much, it’s lovely there’s a facial to help try reverse some of that!
You’re such a good girl! I always forget to wear a hat because I’m usually rushing out the door. I should keep a hat in the car or have a foldable one in my bag…hm….
