The Karla Spetic show, was hands down one of my favourite shows at RAFW. I have been a huge fan of the talented Croatian-born designer for years, as evident from my blog. Our boutique is her largest stockist in Melbourne, and I must admit, I absolutely adore her clothes. They have a minimalist look that produces maximum impact. Karla’s garments are made in Australia from the finest silks made by the best tailors. Bold, clean and elegant, my favourite combination. Karla’s new SS11/12 collection as shown below, was styled by the amazing fashion editor of InStyle magazine, Tavlin Moline. Here are 4 of my favourite looks, you will definitely see me in these outfits later in the year.
This First Look blew me away. I was fixated on the colours, the patterns and the length! My customers are going to love this outfit!
Pink and tangerine is a marriage in style heaven. The sharp tailored look oozes sophistication and control. Buttons done-up is so sexy right now.
I don’t think I can pull off the lime shirt but these pants are another story. I will be wearing green pants this spring, with lots of white, crisp shirts and sleeveless blazers.

And somewhere in my heart, when I saw this tangerine jumpsuit, I liked toying with the thought that Karla designed this jumpsuit with me in mind. Orange is my favourite colour right now and I’ve always been an advocate for jumpsuits. This jumpsuit is going to be on my must-have list from Karla. To see the full collection, check it out on Vogue here.
How many of the front-rowers can you recognise? I sat opposite Susie Bubble, Jessica Gomez (Ambassador of RAFW) and Napoleon Perdis.

Tavlin’s impeccable styling of Karla’s incredible collection took my breath away. Afterwards I congratulated Karla on her stellar show. She was kind enough to pose for a photo with me. The next day I bumped into Tavlin, in a Karla Spetic Centre-print blazer. I was a little starry-eyed as I am a big fan of this talented stylist. The ultra-beautiful thing is that both ladies hold each other in such high respect. When I spoke to Karla, she said that Tavlin was so amazing and her styling really helped her collection to shine. And when I spoke to Tavlin, she said that it was such a delight and a joy to work with such a gifted fashion designer as Karla. Awww!

You can imagine my pleasant surprise when Tavlin said to me ‘You’re a boutique owner and a blogger? Karla has told me about you!’
Only the good stuff, I hope.

You know how I super missed my canine son Theodore whilst we were in Sydney? Next time we are so checking into a pet-friendly hotel, although we are pretty attached to
Don’t judge a show by its invitation.

A classic with a twist. This is the most covetable Burberry trench in the trimmest cut and the twist is in the material: beige washed-leather! On ya, Christopher Bailey! It is highly versatile. The shade flatters any skin tone and the cut slims every figure. Its butter-soft leather means ultimate comfort but you will need to befriend a good leather dry-cleaner. With an astronomical price tag, you would want this coat to last forever…
Here is a grey cashmere
Charles Anastase, a French-Armenian fashion designer is responsible for this vintage-inspired, wool velvet-trimmed coat. His clothes are described as ethereal and nostalgic and it’s not difficult to see why this coat, in particular, has stood the test of time. I am sure that it is qualified for an heirloom. Anastase is a big fan of the 19th Century Victorian silhouette. His garments embrace the femininity of the era and each piece illustrate his mastery of exquisite tailoring. I must admit, I am a lover of chic and conservative style as what is covered up can sometimes be even more demure and sexy. We could modernise the look with skin-tight jeans and tousled hair. This warm coat will beautifully suit the slender figure of one of Anastase’s celebrity admirers : Keira Knightley.
I can see the First Lady in this heavenly number. If See-by-Chloe was around a couple of decades ago, Jackie Onassis and Grace Kelly may have fought over a size 8 version of this wool coat. A classic cut, this coat is sure to polish up any lady’s wardrobe. I am pleasantly surprised by the sophisticated look of the coat, even though it is from the daughter label of Chloe. I love the scalloped pockets and the matching collar. How chic, how Parisian, how Chloe! Add an embellished brooch and some Chanel flats and you could be the next Audrey!
I absolutely adore this black
