Blouse Season!

The weather in Melbourne has been a little crazy lately, 2 days of warmth and sunshine followed by 5 days of rain and gloom. To all our Melbournian readers- please keep warm, drink plenty of water and rest up. Even though frock season is coming up, we realised that we cannot live without our trans-seasonal pieces such as the shirt/blouse which takes you from day to night, from autumn to spring. Just throw on a cute skirt or add some peg-legged pants, and you’re good to go – to work or to a cocktail party.

Shoe Shoe Shoe!

I know I already have 100 or so pairs of shoes…but I cannot help but still have shoe envy from time to time, and if you see the collection of shoes below, you will fully comprehend.

These Alexander Wang booties are insane! They are so hardcore and have a super-hero edge, I love the collars around the ankles. These booties have laces and a zip, how ingenious! Wang is the king of luxe grunge, and we shall all bow down to his royal designer-ship.

Jane of Sea of Shoes and her YSL cage shoes! There is a waiting period on these hot heels, trust her to be one of the first to be trotting around in them! I love the black bows and the transparency of them all.

These crocodile beauties are solid and sleek. I love the mane along the back of the shoe. These heels do the talking.

Ok, a little bit of shoe cleavage. These fantastic strappy heels are featured on Karla’s blog- Karla’s Closet. I love the mock-croc print and the quadriple thick elastics! They are a bit warrior princess meets Cinderella.

Another pair of drop-dead gorgeous shoes from Jane’s collection, Dries van Noten I think? These tribal embellished beauties are a work of art and a fantastic display of exquisite craftsmanship. I would love to walk in Jane’s shoes one day.

You know I have serious shoe envy when this is the third photo of Jane’s shoes- yes THOSE Chanel booties. Jane is well-anchored to the floor. The translucency and the big black bows have won me over, I am head over heels.

Rumi, of FashionToast, she has quite an enviable shoe collection too. I always wonder how she walks around in her ginormous heels, such as these Balenciaga cork platform shoes.

These are Anna Dello Russo’s shoes. Ready? One, two three… *sigh* Adorned with hollies, these Lanvin heels are the perfect accessory for Christmas! Ah, red velvet. I stare, I drool, I melt.

God made man, man made shoes, shoes make the woman.

Please don’t quote me on that.

I only became a fan of green a few years ago. I grew up without anything green in my wardrobe as it was my mother’s least favourite colour. Over the years however, jade and emerald have lured me into becoming their friends, especially after Karl Lagerfeld brought the colour back into the fashion spotlight through his jade jewelry. The stylish ladies below bring ”it’s chic to be green’ to a whole new level.

The quilted Balenciaga bag aside, that green cardigan is very catchy, but so is her fluffy leather jacket.

I would be laughing too if I carried a Birkin and had her dress! How amazing is the geometric print! Her dress reminds me of the funky label Antik Batik and her sandals reflect the orange lines of her dress beautifully.

OK, her sandals are probably the best feature, but her floral skirt is stunning too. Simple and chic.

So achingly elegant in this emerald silk dress, plus her red lips-a match made in heaven.

I think Karla (Karla’s Closet) is wearing Animalia Alexander McQueen heels, but it is her turquoise blazer that caught my eye.

Now here is a lady I would love to meet one day – Natalie Massnet, the founder and director of the ultimate online designer destination Net-A-Porter. I love the olive cardigan and Fendi belt her friend is wearing!

Who would have thought that a frumpy green cardigan with a cape attached to it would be so hip on. Together with those two-toned heels, she looks like she could take on the world!

This post is dedicated to Jo (it’s her favourite colour), who is making me green with envy as she is travelling around Europe.

Yellow is such a happy colour. It reminds me of holidays and sunshine. I know everyone’s probably been holidays already this year. So for those who have, here are some pretty pictures to help you reminisce of the good times you’ve had, and for those who haven’t’ been on a vacation, here is what we will be looking forward to:

This leggy blonde with her gorgeous floral dress and embellished gladiators shows us how to do pose like a pro. I love the boats in the background.

This look has the perfect balance between strength and fragility. Love the mustard scarf on Louise. She looks smart and cute.

Natalie Massnet – owner and director of Net-a-Porter. Don’t you love her gold jacket with bright canary lapels and buttons? The lady next to her is wearing a denim jumpsuit!
