When I was raiding my already packed away winter wardrobe in search for the lightest and effortlessly chic outfits, I look no further to my Fashionista folder. I have collected hundreds of Street Chic pictures that inspire my day to day outfits. Because it’s still warm in Melbourne, I cannot imagine the windy and wet weather in Paris. So I consulted these when I selected my luggage wardrobe. I like to travel light and usually just pack a capsule wardrobe, to be honest usually my capsule wardrobe is still the size of a bit luggage case which most cannot swallow. But I’m going to Paris Fashion Week! I have to dress up! I have to have some freedom and variety! I don’t like to pre-plan outfits because I am extremely fond of changing my mind. I remember that I used to surprise friends on the day of every formal, ball, wedding (I stuck to my white dress but the reception dress was a last minute change as well), party and dinner that I’ve been to. I always change my outfit in the last minute.
So without further ado, below are some of my favourite winter looks right now which have inspired me to select my luggage wardrobe.

I am bringing my own Country Road slouchy pants and some booties.

I will be bring my black and white tweed Zara jacket. I absolutely adore this outfit. So ladylike.

I will be wearing plenty of black and opaque tights. Recently I got a really cute pair with little dots from Alannah Hill. I will be trotting around in them!

I will wear a long scarf and try to find this lady’s leather pants. They are killers!

I will bring some 80s inspired belts and wool dresses.

I will pose in front of gorgeous doors and bring a warm coat.

I will bring my black full skirt.

I will bring a voluminous dress and my slouchy leather jacket.

I remember commenting on this picture with ‘gorgeous but committed shoe sin’. She’s ruined the look with ugly Converses! But flats are a staple and I hope I brought some along to walk around all the shops in.

I will be bringing some patterned tights and a fur scarf. This chic rocks. I love everything she’s wearing.
I hope I brought the right mix. I’ll post daily outfits when I return! Hope the weather’s good in Melbourne! Happy birthday to my bestie Lisa!

Have you ever had high expectations about something and then was completely let down?
I have been looking forward to the Kingston Food/Music Festival all week. I couldn’t wear heels because it was at the park and I didn’t want green heels. I chose flats so I could run around with the dogs and eat to my heart’s content. Only did I then find out that they were not allowed in. I vowed to carry them and not let their feet touch the lawn but their entry was still denied. The security guards were so strict! Hermes and Theodore were tied up and missed out on all the food. How is this a community event if we could not bring our dogs?

Sorry I’m such a clown. I couldn’t help it. I’m wearing my favourite necklace of the moment, a dorky camera T (souvenir purchase from Singapore), a vintage Thai fuschia jacket which I surgically removed the shoulder pads from, and (I’m a little ashamed to admit this) ridiculously comfortable trackies from Singapore airlines. I’m sure I got a few funny stares from strangers…

Posing as a policeman…

These are the best cupcakes I’ve ever laid my palate on! I had the green tea and cookies n cream ones. Super delicious! How cute are the boys’ aprons!

Even though the music was bad, the food stores scarce, I still got my sugar fix, tea and wine tastings and a laugh from those clowns. Sometimes you have to entertain yourself.

A little while ago I went to an engagement/21st party at a venue called Scooter in Balaclava. There was a huge vintage chair so I had to have a photo with it. I climbed on but it didn’t really have a comfortable back.
I am wearing vintage head to toe: gold knit dress, black snakeskin wedges, a grey suede bag, gold/black chain and a gold crest necklace I made.

If I am not holding a clutch, I like to have 2 drinks, so I can tame the bitter one with the sweeter one. Cute candelabra, isn’t it?

I borrowed this picture from Face Hunter. I just love the juxtaposition of this grand and magnificient throne chair amongst the rubbish in a back alley. What a glorious piece of furniture, the gold trimmings are to be admired and the velvet chair looks so inviting. I wish I could sit on this chair! And now for a more philosophical question: who is sitting on the throne of your heart?

Happy New Year everyone. Thank you all for supporting us this year. We are looking forward to sharing more beautiful and wonderful things and stories with you in 2010.
On behalf of Theodore and I, we wish you the very best in the next 365 days. Drop us a note anytime.

It’s nearly 2010! How was everyone’s Christmas? Did you all eat and drink in moderation or is that just wishful thinking?
During summer, everyone likes to wear dresses. As a result, the cute skirt is feeling left out. I thought I would pay tribute to another one of our favourite pieces of clothing. There are some crazy designs here- look out!

Actually I think this girl could be wearing shorts…oh well, the print is gorgeous and I am more in love with her sweet pink patent heels.

Amazing outfit- where do you get a quilted black mini like that from? I am not sure if it’s leather. Love her belt too.

Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes strutting her stuff in her backyard. Her vintage skirt is actually a rectangular cotton cloth with aeroplanes on it. There is also a pocket and waist ties. I want her Ann D lace-up boots!

Her belt looks familiar: ) Great blue suede ankle boots. I love this outfit. Polished eclectic street style – look how she shimmers.

A shop chic photo from Elle: crazy shoes, fun top, great skirt. The floral motive extend from the wall to her waist.

Don’t settle for all-black! Just add an artistic skirt for instant grown-up glamour. A little bit of cubism never hurt anyone. Love the colour combination and the thin lavender belt.

Jane’s puffy skirt is divine, it would be so soft to wear. A photographer and stylist in training…

So achingly chic and sleek. What is there not to love? Shall I start with the Louboutin sling-back booties or the Chloe pouch? Yeah, I want her layered skirt too. Here comes her yellow taxi.
