Hello lovelies! Did you enjoy your weekend? We’ve been very blessed with fine weather here in Melbourne. Summer is hands down my favourite season. It is closely associated with sun, fun, ice cream and fresh fruits. Some of my most beloved fashion pieces are summer essentials, such as anything silk (shirts, skirts, dresses, shorts, pants), espadrilles and straw baskets.
As you may recall I started 2012 going to the library with my wicker basket bag, here is the mini version of a vintage tote I’ve had for a while. Basket bags are all hand-made so they are the epitome of artistic prowess of rural parts of the world. These bags may not be able to carry heavy objects like your laptop or a hard-cover book but they are sturdy enough for a phone, wallet and candy, and they make their wearer appear environmentally-friendly and well-travelled.
I have a very soft spot for printed shirts and this Kyla Crozier silk shirt is a current favourite. I feel very patriotic wearing it. Made in Australia, the Sydney designer was inspired by Aussie native flora, can you decipher the vast assemblage of plant species on it? It’s as light as a feather if it weren’t for the metal buttons. Attention to detail indeedy.
What do you think of the A-line silk skirt? The exquisitely cut Violet & I olive Mallorca skirt is ultra-flattering. And how can I resist double layered silk? The advantages are two-fold, layers reduce transparency and the inner offer a dreamy touch to anyone’s thighs.
One of my best friends, Lisa, gave me this red leather belt (similar one here) nearly 2 decades ago, I didn’t appreciate it back as a teen but now I’m considering giving it heirloom status.
It wasn’t difficult blending these pieces together. I started with the Violet & I skirt, found a shirt with a harmonizing print and added accessories with complimentary tones. I usually get dressed within 5 minutes.
Where: Going to a garage sale
Wear: Vintage sunnies, earrings, bag + belt, Kyla Krozier silk shirt (last seen here), Panache Lingerie, Violet & I silk skirt, Urban Soul espadrilles

Olivia Chantecaille and a ftrendy friend. Toned, tanned and terrific, check. Scoop-neck and shoulder-less, check. Hems above the knee, check. Dark sunnies, check. Luscious wavy dark locks, check. Heels in matching colours, check. Smile for
Another example of friendship dressing- same hair, same sunnies, same figure, same clutch, same hem-length, same sandals- T-bar and gold. Not sure if the dress on the left is a 2-piece (navy singlet over minidress with ruffled hem) incely cinched at her slim waist. or a single entity. I’m definitely going to mental note this outfit, although the skulled brown mini is supa-dupa cute too. Ahh, Europeans. They certainly know to how dress.

And lastely, the best matched couple on the planet.Dark shades, check. No smiles for the camera, check. Grey and black, check. Loop around the neck, check. Hand-held he-and-she buttersoft bag, check. Funky shoes, check. My favourites would be her gladiators and his bag. I can definitely mimic this look ( c’mon, we’ve all got grey and black basics), it’s just a matter of persuading my man to carry a man-bag.
