Happy Boxing Day everyone! How did you celebrate Christmas? On Christmas Eve, I surprised hubby with a visit to a nursing home where we carolled to the elderly residents with attempted harmonies. It was so much fun- for us and for them! We met a stylish centenarian who looked decades younger, she revealed that her secret to longevity is to talk to everyone she meets- ‘every Tom Dick and Harry.’ Sounds like a great New Year Resolution! Our parents and a friend joined us for dinner afterwards. I roasted a turkey for the first time! Must say, having friends and family over for dinner is a great way to force myself to cook. Gotta do it more often!
Lately I’ve been obsessed with shirt dresses, functional and easy chic, they are perfect for everyday dressing. I found the khaki dress recently (was actually purchased in Switzerland 3 years ago) in the black hole of my closet and am uber excited to debut it for you with this amazing leather hat by KONSTRUKT. For all the Hermés-admirers out there, I’m sure you’ll empathise with me as to why I fell hard for this hat. Butter soft hide, creamy pastel, it was love at first sight. I actually ordered it 4 months ago and was hoping to wear it to the races…but just as well, it arrived in time for summer, now I doubt I’ll leave home without it.
Outfit: Konstrukt hat, Specsavers prescription sunnies, Orwell dress, Alex Monroe ring, vintage belt, bag and bracelets, Melissa shoes
Ooh and I finally got prescription sunglasses, so I can now drive without squinting. I’m really intrigued to know what you all received for Christmas! Tell tell! I’ll start first since you twisted my arm, I bought another Roksanda Ilincic dress, can’t wait for it to arrive :)
Did you love your Christmas pressies? If not, I have just launched my online outlet over the weekend which include designer garments from the Cecylia boutique as well as vintage gems from my wardrobe which I have collected for years but have hardly ever (some never) worn. Something special for yourself for 2012 perhaps? xx
As many of you know, our chihuahua Theodore, is blessed with handsome looks and dashing personality, but did you know that he can also act?
Theodore was recently hand-picked by Melbourne bag designer, Sarah Conners, to be featured in her short film for her new SS12 Aqua collection, the divine python range. Theodore was trained by Luke Hura, the legendary animal handler who also trained Red Dog. The ladies in the film were styled by my beautiful friend Sally (Styled by Sally). Needless to say, I am a super proud mom and we hope that you enjoy viewing it! See if you can spot me in a very tiny cameo appearance :)
Thank you Sarah for this amazing acting opportunity for Theodore! And for demanding the python spit him out afterwards… :)
Can’t believe Christmas is this weekend! How are you all celebrating the Lord’s birthday? What are you all doing during the holidays? I hope you are off to an exotic destination or get to chill at home with lots of friends and food! This blog is not going on holidays, and I’m relying on you to keep me entertained whilst I vet around the festive season, so stay in touch lovelies by commenting below or come say hi on Twitter and Facebook!
Some pretty pieces to inspire you this festive season. We think the Antonia Goy dress on the left with green and red is the perfect Christmas dress with a beautiful element of surprise.
Middle: Spijkers en Spijkers wool skirt suit, Alldressedup silk blouse and feathered necklace
Right: Alldressedup shirt dress with belt (comes as a set) and feathered neckpiece
Karla Spetic silk dress in blush (also available in black) and Mawi crystal and gecko necklace – this sweet ensemble is gorgeous for every occasion, from weddings to luncheons. There’s room for a decent meal!
Gail Sorronda silk/cotton shirtdress, Damselfly necklace, Alldressedup bow tafefta belt
This dress would look amazing with a petticoat underneath, but a bright pair of bikinis would look awesome too – depends on the occasion.
Have you got many Christmas shindigs lined up? Have you got outfits planned yet?
Our favourite designer at the moment would have to be hands down Sophia Kokosalaki- she continues to charm us with her Grecian drapery and goddess allure. All of her pieces are made by amazing hands in the UK and in Italy. The silk chiffon is soft yet strong and the pieces are artistic yet wearable. They are ultra-luxurious and very feminine.

(the right shoulder sleeve should sit on the shoulder but the mannequin’s skin is too slippery)

Lately everyone’s been hitting the gym and staying away from sugar. We’re not sure if one cupcake a day will keep the doctors away, but a little bit of indulgence once in a while is okay. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, fragrant candles provide the luxury, minus the calories.
Hope to chat to you soon at the boutique. What is on your wish-list this Christmas?
