Vintage Jumper / BCBG Max Azria pants (last seen here) / vintage shoes

First stop on our Brilliant Road Trip: (If you don’t count my detour at The Mill antique markets) was the town synonymous with the old gold rush days, the Eureka stockade, and people dressed in old-fashioned clothes. Yeb, that’s right! We fulfilled my childhood dream of visiting Sovereign Hill! Although I didn’t find any gold in my pan, I absolutely loved  wandering through the historic streets meeting the local horses and trying my hand at some old-fashioned bowling. Theodore, our Chihuahua, was unable to join us for one as the horses at Sovereign Hill are apparently pooch-ophobic.

All that gold rushing around was great for working up an appetite which we were definitely going to need for for our 10 course degustation dinner at the Royal Mail Hotel. We had originally planned to stop at Hall’s Gap for a rock-climbing session in the Grampians but it seemed that every one else had the same idea…that didn’t reter hubby from keeping his post-rock-climbing massage appointment at Grampians Healing Hands.  In this first day, our Hyundai Veloster Turbo took us over 300km in head-turning style.  Thanks to Hyundai, we were able to experience more brilliant adventures than we can cram into one blog post.  If you want a taste of things to come on our Brilliant Road Trip, you can take a look at the trailer we cooked up while Royal Mail was cooking up our omnivorous feast – and you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram @cecyliadotcom.
