A Berry Delightful Oaks Day

by cecylia on November 9, 2012

It’s been a surreal 3 days. My first time at the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Cup Day I was completely starstruck to see Rose Byrne, overwhelmed to meet Mischa Barton, and delighted to hobnob with a fine crowd in the Emirates marquee. I woke up the next day to tweets and Facebook updates about my photo (taken by the insanely talented Jesse Maricic of Raww) featured on Vogue.com.au.

Still bleary-eyed from blogging, I dashed to the filming of the final parade of Project Runway yesterday. So lucky already, I could’t believe it when I arrived to find that they had reserved first-row seats for us! What a visual treat. So much youth and talent, I nearly cried. Can’t reveal much about the show as we have to watch it in its entirety on Nov 19th 8:30 on Arena, but I’ve picked my favourite :) And seeing Megan Gale’s outfit made me want to befriend my juicer…

Yesterday, Crown Oaks Day was an extra icing on the cake. Although hubby couldn’t come as work beckoned him and afterall, it was Ladies’ Day, I had an absolute ball. Mena Suvari is even prettier in real life! The competition at Fashion on the Fields is so fierce! And I can eat 10 mini lemon meringue tarts in a minute! Sorry juicer, you’re so good to me but I’m just not that into you…

Another last-minute outfit, I was so happy to find random pieces in my closet that completed this magenta, flamingo and tangerine get-up. So comfortable too, I almost broke into an Irish jig when the music and wines egged me on. Think I’m going to pull out my Corrs album as I suffer major withdrawal symptoms from the magnificent Irish-themed Emirates marque this weekend. I’m vetting again Saturday and Sunday. Who doesn’t work on their 5th wedding anniversary right? Have an awesome weekend lovelies and I leave you with the best…

Love this bright outfit! The patent clutch was a really good choice with it :) The blue backdrop is perfect for photos as well, makes the colours pop even more.

Theo is so cute too! Did he get to go to the races?

Hope you don’t have to work too much this weekend, shame you can’t enjoy your anniversary!
