Remember in the Zara post I said that I had to whiz off to a special function immediately after creating it? Now that I include a Chinese translation it takes me so much longer because I’m so rusty with Mandarin, I had literally zero time to get ready for the Prahran Mission Charity Luncheon and had no idea what to wear! A few days ago I had contemplated an orange Karla Spetic jumpsuit but when I had to make a split second/gut instinct decision in the face of pouring rain and Arctic weather, this silk chiffon Chanel-esque dress appeared in my mind. I didn’t even get a chance to brush my hair or reapply lippie, and as I was driving I realised that I wasn’t even wearing jewellery! But guess what? I just happened to have a pair of Byzantine-style drop earrings IN THE CAR (“leftovers” from my blog shoots). So once again I learn a valuable lesson: Embrace spontaneity!
Where: Circa 2 Acland St St Kilda
Wear: Vintage earrings, dress & clutch, Vionnet heels
Set in the grand dining hall of Circa The Prince, we indulged in juicy snappers and caramelised cabbages. Socialites air kissed, champaign and wine glassess clinked, and bloggers? We photographed and noted all the fine outfits. See Candice de Ville in vintage and Sarah in Jolet (1st photo), Jane in Marc Jacobs and Calvin in Karl Lagerfeld (3rd), Anna Mott bedazzled (5th), Jenny Bannister (7th) in her ‘understated’ technicoloured tribute to Anna Piaggi, and of course, the models in Madam Virtue haute couture splendor. My favourite look from the salon show was the backless Roksanda Ilincic dress (surprise surprise). So elegant and demure, Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn would have been proud. Without the amazing salon show created by Madam Virtue, the event would not have been possible. The event raised funds for the worthy work of Prahran Mission who aids people with mental illnesses. It was an honour and a privilege to support this great charity. And what an exquisite afternoon!
Visit Madam Virtue at 5 Crossley St Melbourne (just off the Paris end of Bourke St) to acquire these fantastical pieces!

Your dress is gorgeous Ms C but I’m very keen to see you rock your Karla Spetic jumpsuit! Perhaps we can do a dual jumpsuit outing together, me in my Henrik Vibskov onesie :)
